Through a challenging curriculum encompassing design, installation, repair, and maintenance of high speed data systems, students gain the knowledge and skills necessary to become employed in a number industries. The Fiber Optic Technician hands-on training reviews premise wiring used in industrial, commercial, and residential networks and how to terminate, test, troubleshoot, and repair fiber optic cables and network devices. Students concentrate on the installation, service, and maintenance of high-speed data infrastructures. Instructors and students follow the FOA CFOT curriculum including all modules/chapters of the FOA Reference Guide to Fiber Optics, Study Guide to FOA Certifications by Jim Hayes. All FOA slides, lecture, and practicum components will be delivered. The recommended time for the class will be 32 hours including 16 hours of hands-on.
