FOA Approved Training

The Fiber Optic Association has developed curriculum guidelines for training course approval and only approves schools or training organizations meeting our standards. Schools or training organizations which offer training which meets FOA standards are listed on this website and are authorized to offer FOA certifications.

JATC training is available to IBEW/NECA members only.

Upon completion of this course, the student will have mastered the technical and practical aspects of fiber optics. The course will cover fiber optic cabling, optical detectors, optical transmitters, fiber optic transmission theory, manufacturing, installation, connectorizatiion, splicing, loss measurement and budgeting, troubleshooting and testing as well as optical couplers, splitters and attenuators. Hands on training is an integral part of the course.
