FOA Approved Training

The Fiber Optic Association has developed curriculum guidelines for training course approval and only approves schools or training organizations meeting our standards. Schools or training organizations which offer training which meets FOA standards are listed on this website and are authorized to offer FOA certifications.

1.) Four day CFOT fiber optic certification program covering the principles and fundamentals of fiber optics, premise and outside plant applications with 50% of the class time spent on hands-on activities.

2.) Two Day CFOS/Fiber To The Home. An application base course to give the student a full understanding of the FTTH growth.

3.) Two Day CFOS/Splicing course. In depth two day course that gives the student an full understanding of splicing, including care and maintenance.

4.) Two Day CFOS/Outside plant course. A comprehensive course that gives the also gives the student hands on. Build a closure test the completed install.

5) Three day CFOS/Design. This is a specialist application certification covering fiber optic network design intended for network owners, IT personnel, facilities managers, network designers, estimators or technicians involved in the design or installation of fiber networks.

6) Two day CFOS/Testing. This course is designed to further knowledge on fiber optic testing procedures. Various test methods are covered and give a deeper understanding of different ways to ensure your network is operating at peak performance and issues are found to make take corrective action.

All courses can be conducted locally or at the customers premises across North America, the Caribbean and Europe. Evening and half day courses are conducted for contractors for subjects including, Cleaning, OTDR operation, Connectorizing and Splicing. Contact us for more information.
