FOA Approved Training

The Fiber Optic Association has developed curriculum guidelines for training course approval and only approves schools or training organizations meeting our standards. Schools or training organizations which offer training which meets FOA standards are listed on this website and are authorized to offer FOA certifications.

We offer a full semester class- one night a week for 18 weeks. Half the time on fiber optics and half on premises cabling. The breakdown for instruction is 1/3 classroom and 2/3 laboratory. The course covers practical aspects of designing, installing and troubleshooting both fiber and copper cable plants for LANs carrying voice, data and video.The class is given every other year.
