This course teaches the fundamentals of structured cabling. It is designed to provide entry-level technicians with the background knowledge and basic skills needed to function safely and effectively as part of a cabling installation team. The course also covers standards used in premises cabling. It covers copper, Fiber and wireless technologies used and corresponding components for multimode (OM1, OM2, OM3 and OM4) and single mode fibers, copper (UTP Cat 3, 5 and 6), coax and wireless. The Certified Premises Cabling Technician (CPCT) course is the introductory course of the Broadband Fiber Optic Network Cabling Installation Career Path.
