The Fiber Optic Association has developed curriculum guidelines for training course approval and only approves schools or training organizations meeting our standards. Schools or training organizations which offer training which meets FOA standards are listed on this website and are authorized to offer FOA certifications.

The course covers the fundamentals of fiber optics technology and related terminologies, fiber cable types and structure, familiarization with the transmission systems in telecom networks, data links transceivers and interfaces; major part of the course is to ensure proper skills in cable handling, termination and splicing techniques with hands on exercises; get a good knowledge about connectors and related materials; Also, addressing pulling cable guidelines practices, OTDR testing with reports analysis; Trainees will gain the knowledge of Network design basics and fiber project planning, Safety considerations and troubleshooting processes.
