Services Portfolio FIBRE OPTICS Fibre has seen massive growth lately with cost to deploy having dropped substantially especially in the FTTX market due to PON. Within the Enterprise Passive Optical LAN is the latest expansion of PON. Fibre further offers traditional benefits like speed, stability and distance barrier making it an attractive choice. Sibane Solutions carries out the design, installation, testing and maintenance of fibre optic systems including fusion splicing and termination of multimode and single mode fibre cables. DATA RACKS We supply and install all rack types from full height Data server Racks to small wall mount enclosures for smaller installation nodes. In addition, we provide and install all ancillary equipment be it power strips (PDUs), fan units, cable management and plinths. Active equipment installation and cable management are dealt with efficiently. ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING Environmental conditions within a ‘ server room’ should be controlled and managed. When the server room provides all necessary infrastructure and integrated functions it becomes necessary to implement an environmental monitoring solution. We install and commission remote environmental monitoring systems – GSM or IP-SNMP based monitoring systems that monitor various components of an infrastructure ranging from temperature, humidity, power outages, start up and fuel loads of a generator to the air flow within the server room. ENVIRONMENTAL RACKS These units are typically deployed when the server room is required for short term occupation and when wet work costs may not be cost effective. We offer options that can grow from a single 42U unit to double or triple server rack. Environmental racks are specifically designed to be cost effective replacements to the traditional server room. They are supplied complete with security locks, controlled access, an air conditioner, fire detection and protection, back up UPS power supplies WIRELESS & RF INDOOR The in-building wireless network has grown exponentially because it’s obvious benefits. It has evolved offer ever faster speeds, greater stability, broader coverage with better security. A good network architect is an absolute must for any enterprise considering a wireless implementation. It saves time and money when one has a clear understanding of your needs. The first critical issue is whether you need a local area network technology to support internal users or a wide area network solution to support a workforce that is out in the field. Wireless networking (i.e. the various types of unlicensed 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi devices) is used to meet many needs. Perhaps the most common use is to connect laptop users who travel from location to location. Another common use is for mobile networks that connect via satellite. A wireless transmission method is a logical choice to network a LAN segment that must frequently change locations. The following situations justify the use of wireless technology: | To span a distance beyond the capabilities of typical cabling | To provide a backup communications link in case of normal network failure | To link portable or temporary workstations | To overcome situations where normal cabling is difficult or financially impractical | To remotely connect mobile users or networks.
OUTDOOR Our Point to point wireless links provide a very effective and affordable method of extending network coverage between neighbouring buildings. Point to point wireless is generally deployed where the cost to deploy a wired solution be it copper or fibre is too expensive. Data transfer speeds are generally the area where this technology comes short. Should speed be a premium requirement Free Space Optics (FOS) solutions are the next logical step. However this also comes with some draw backs. We assist by conducting comprehensive site surveys. We assess distances, topologies, speeds and bandwidth capabilities and interference. Through our consultative process we generally come to a solution that addresses our clients’ needs - be it Point to Point, Point to Multi-Point or Free Space Optics. SECURITY ACCESS CONTROL These systems are designed to control entry to a specific area, these can be extremely simple for example a single mechanical lock but can often become more complicated incorporating intruder alarms and CCTV systems. CCTV With the current levels of crime business must consider some form of surveillance as the damage to business be it property or productivity can be exorbitant. CCTV therefore must be in place, operational and accessible.
